ka·nei·see | collective presents Nevertheless, a collaboration with the Bay Area’s all-women Cat Call Choir. Drawing inspiration from the feminist battle cry, “Nevertheless, she persisted,” Nevertheless surveys the field of gender-based harassment from the subtle to the violent, in a marriage of song and dance, comedy and horror.

R e a d y m a d e

Using hundreds of rolls of toilet paper to convey the power of perspective and appreciation, Readymade is an evening-length dance inspired by Marcel Duchamp's 1917 art theory by the same title.

C o o k i e   C u t t e r

Cookie Cutter investigates the positive and negative nuances of its subject, from figuratively exploring what it means to be predictable, recycled, and not unique to literally referencing cookie cutters and the delicacies they shape. An evening of dichotomies in space, manufactured moments, childhood laughs, rawness, and freedom within boundaries.
