VERA SCHWELGER

 

Vera Schwegler trained in Long Beach, CA before attending Saint Mary’s College of CA to receive her BA in English and Dance.  She went on to perform at the Kennedy Center for the 2010 American College Dance Festival and work with Janice Garrett and Charles Moulton on their production of “The Experience of Flight in Dreams” in 2011, for which the cast was nominated for an Isadora Duncan award. In 2011 she participated in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as an Assistant Producer and Technical Manager. She has danced with many Bay Area choreographers and believes each one of them has taught her something beautiful and new. Currently she dances for ka·nei·see | collective as a founding company member; she has domestically toured with them as well.  In addition, she dances with Dana Lawton Dances with whom she has toured domestically and internationally. She is a certified yoga instructor and loves her dance students at Ace Dance Academy and their willingness to make art on any given day with her.
